Build Your Spiritual House

Resources to build a strong spiritual foundation.

Building Your Spiritual House

Helping you grow as a prolific follower of Jesus is an important part of the mission of Gracepoint. As a church, we want to see you start a relationship with Jesus and build that relationship through knowing Him and learning to follow His will. We know that life change stories are experienced as we engage time with God through reading and studying the Bible and by communicating with Him in prayer.

Where do I start?

The hardest part of building a plan to grow your spiritual house is knowing where to start! That's where the following resources will help you get started. Start by finding a plan right for you that will help you read the Bible.

The New Testament plan will lead you through a year long guide of the New Testament. The book by book study will assist you in reading through the whole story of the Bible. The whole bible plan will lead you through the Scriptures through a hybrid of daily reading in the New Testament and Old Testament.

Once you have made a plan for reading, it is important to learn how to utilize your time by using an effective Bible study method like the S.O.A.P. method. Click the button below to learn more about this method.

There are two main keys to remember when you practice the S.O.A.P., or any other Bible study method.

  1. Connect with Jesus! The purpose of time in the Word is to spend time with your Savior. Clear your mind, prepare your heart and remember, you are hanging out with your God.
  2. Read to obey. James 1:22 cautions us not to simply be hearers only but doers of the Word. Reading is not the goal; rather hearing from God and being obedient to Him.

Enjoy your time in God's incredible Word! Love your time! Look forward to it. Protect it. We promise that if you'll take time this year to dig into the Word daily and build your spiritual house, God will do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)
